BROME AND OAKLEY
Brome and Oakley rural villages in north Suffolk. They are the two wards which are represented by Brome and Oakley Parish Council with four Councillors representing each ward. The Council is pleased to be involved with the Diss and District Neigbourhood Plan and hopes that it will enable the smaller parishes to have a voice in planning for their future.
Brome has the challenges of the industrial development of Eye Airfield, a large part of which is within the parish boundary for Brome and the notoriously busy A140 running through the western part of the village. Oakley has the designated lorry route of the B1118 running through its lower part.
Like many rural parishes we want to consider items such as traffic and speed management, improved broadband, cycle routes and footpaths and enable our villages to grow in a way that is appropriate to the needs of the local people. We welcome the chance to engage with our parishioners and our consultation process will start shortly.
